Originally the brain child of Martin Stenton and perceived as a bit of a jaunt up to Scotland, the home of golf.
It has now become an annual fixture in many diaries, nailed on for the first weekend in September.
Over the last 30+ years the trip has evolved from its early format towards a more professional tour-oriented four rounds to count competition, courses being chosen for their quality rather than their ability to accommodate our party at the last minute.
